Adult Protection from Abuse: Outline
All adults have the right to an independent lifestyle and choice. They have the right to receive appropriate help, including advice, protection and support from relevant agencies. Everyone has the right to live life free from abuse.
Some adults are less able to protect themselves than others, and some have difficulty making their wishes and feelings known. This may make them vulnerable to abuse.
Abuse of vulnerable adults is not acceptable.
