A to Z of services: Emergency Planning
Emergency Planning: Outline
The Emergency Planning Unit assists other organisations (i.e. the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance service) to regain normal levels of service following a major emergency which, because of the scale of its effects, cannot be dealt with by the emergency services and local authorities as part of their day-to-day activities.
During any emergency that occurs in Hartlepool, the role of the Council is to support and assist the Emergency Services in life saving and operational activities.
Emergency Planning in Hartlepool is provided by the Cleveland Emergency Planning Unit, which is based in Aurora Court, Barton Road, Riverside Park, Middlesbrough TS2 1RY.
Further information on the types of emergency we plan for and what you can do in the event of an incident is contained in our main Emergency Planning pages.
