Countryside Access: Outline
The Rights of Way network and issues concerned with countryside access are the responsibility of the Countryside Access Team.
Under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 Hartlepool has no Open Access land.
To find out where there is Open Access, you can either go to Countryside Access and locate access areas you want to visit or at the same site look to see what open access is close to where you live.
Ordnance Survey have re-issued their Explorer maps to now include Open Access areas. The map number relevant for the region including Middlesbrough and Hartlepool is 306.
