Student Transport - Post 16: Outline
All Hartlepool students aged 16-19 years old are entitled to apply to the Children's Services Department for assistance with travel costs. The scheme is open to students attending full-time courses, who are resident in the Borough of Hartlepool and who are aged less than 19 years on 1st September of the year prior to commencement of study.
Students must be between 16 and 19 years of age and be in full time study in an establishment of further education. To receive transport assistance, you must meet the following criteria:

Reside more than 3 miles from the place of study; and

Your chosen programme of study is not available at an FE establishment closer to home
The Post 16 Travel Scheme provides a booklet of up to 38 weekly vouchers that allows students to purchase either in town or out of town Megarider tickets at reduced cost. The type of voucher allocated will depend on the place of study. Megarider tickets can be used on services operated by Stagecoach Hartlepool and Stagecoach Transit.
