Local Plan: Outline
The Local Plan is part of the development plan for Hartlepool
- it provides guidance for the control of development by defining precise policies on land uses and on selected matters of design so that potential applicants for planning permission are aware of the planning requirements for the locality;
- it promotes and provides guidance for regeneration and other investment opportunities and enables other 'planning' bodies to phase, service and market sites based on known criteria of land availability. Financial resources can then be targeted more effectively; and
- it brings local and detailed issues to the attention of the public so that there is full involvement in the discussion, and input to, planning the future of the Borough.
