Zoos are regulated by the Council under the Zoo Licensing Act 1981 (as amended). Operators of zoos must obtain a licence from Hartlepool Borough Council. We will arrange inspections of premises to check compliance with appropriate legislation and licence conditions and will investigate complaints from the general public.
