A to Z of services: Horticultural Services

Horticultural Services: Outline

Hartlepool Borough Council is responsible for the management of all Council owned open spaces within the town.  This may include the maintenance of trees, hedges, shrubs, shrub beds, rose beds, flower beds, grassed areas, grass verges and closed churchyards.

Grassed areas are usually cut a minimum of thirteen times a year.

Shrub beds are pruned on a rolling programme and will be treated with weedkiller twice a year, in addition to spot treatment as necessary.

Roads and footpaths will be sprayed twice a year to control weeds and further spot treatment will be carried out, as necessary.

Further information can be found on our Horticultural Services pages. Alternatively, you can telephone Hartlepool Connect on 01429 523333 for more information or to report a problem with the maintenance of open spaces.
