Private Property Compulsory Purchase: Outline
There may be occasions when the Council needs to issue compulsory purchase orders to acquire land or premises as part of an agreed strategy, for example, development or clearing areas of older housing.
In the case of individual dwellings that have been left empty for a significant period of time, the Council may apply for Compulsory Purchase Orders to ensure that the houses are brought back into use.
