Licence - Pet Shop: Outline
If you wish to open a pet shop in Hartlepool, you must apply for a licence from Hartlepool Borough Council. A pet shop is defined broadly as a premises (including a private dwelling) from which animals are sold as pets. An inspection of the premises would be undertaken to ensure conditions are suitable, and a fee is payable for this.
