Hartlepool Borough Council maintains a register of Scrap Metal Dealers under the terms of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964. The register gives details of the name and address of any scrap metal dealer operating lawfully in the District.

If your scrap business involves the recovery for re-use or sale of salvageable parts from motor vehicles then you must also register as a Motor Salvage Operator.
