Q: What will happen to my vehicle once Hartlepool Borough Council has removed it due to not displaying a valid tax disc?

Q: How can I get my vehicle back?

Q: What if I can not produce the required documents?

Answer:

If you do not have a vehicle registration document:
Hartlepool Connect can provide you with an application form for a Vehicle Registration Certificate (V62) which will be sent to the DVLA on your behalf.  Please note that the DVLA charge £25 for a registration certificate which needs to be sent with the application form in the form of a cheque/postal order.

If you do not have a valid tax disc you will be able to re-claim your vehicle by paying a Surety deposit as well as the release and storage fees.

If you do not have proof of your identity:
Without proof that you are who you say you are, we are unable to release the vehicle.  Please contact one of our customer service advisers to discuss alternative sources of ID.
