Building control FAQs
Q: What are Building Regulations?
Q: How do I get Building Regulation Approval?
Building Regulation approval can be obtained in two ways:
Full Plans Application - for most building work approval is given to plans for the work and the work is carried out in accordance with the plans and inspected for compliance with the regulations as it proceeds.
Building Notice Application - these may be used for small domestic works. No formal approval is issued for plans submitted but the work is deemed to be approved by way of inspections made as the work is being carried out.
