Answer:

If you have submitted a Full Plans application your plans will be assessed under the requirements of the Building Regulations.  

If they comply with the regulations they will be approved. If, following the initial assessment of the plans adjustments are required to ensure compliance, you or your agent will be notified and given the opportunity to amend your proposals to meet the requirements.

The Council has a statutory period (usually 5 weeks but can be extended to 2 months) in which it must make a decision.   If any adjustments requested have not been received within the time constraints from you or your agents then a formal rejection of the plans will be considered.   Following rejection of plans you can resubmit the same scheme (including adjustments to show compliance) without any additional costs being incurred.

Once work commences on site you should notify the section and site inspections will be made by a surveyor.

If you have submitted a Building Notice application no plans will be appraised but surveyors will inspect work on site as it progresses to ensure compliance with the current Building Regulations.
