Q: How does Scrutiny work?
The Scrutiny Committees each have a work programme that prioritises the investigations it will carry out over the coming months.
The Committees will gather evidence from a wide range of sources including the Council's own employees, other local authorities, national bodies and service users.
Evidence gathered might also include expert witnesses or research carried out by the Committee itself. Once they have the evidence, the Committees will make its report complete with recommendations and monitor the progress of the agreed actions.
