Scrutiny is not confined to looking at the Council. It can respond to the actions of other organisations whose operations affect local residents, by inviting their representatives to attend meetings and answer questions.
Scrutiny also has important powers to scrutinise National Health Service bodies in order to contribute to health improvement for local residents.
