Frequently Asked Questions

Q: HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF I NEED PERMISSION?

Answer:

We offer a free service called "One Stop Shop". We operate a One Stop Shop for informal planning enquiries.  This is a free Planning and Building Control advisory service for householder developments (i.e. for the erection of a conservatory, installation of solar panels etc) however as from the 1 October 2011 there is a fee payable for non domestic development or for the 'fast track' service offered for domestic developments.

A form can be downloaded from this website, the One Stop Shop will advise whether or not planning permission is required and will also try and tell you what other permissions may be required.   The schedule of fees can also be viewed on the One Stop Shop page.
