Health and social care

Child and Adult Services combines the services of the old Children's Services department and Adult and Community Services department to support adults and children and families.

We offer advice, information and support to people receiving or going in to social care with a priority for vulnerable adults and safeguarding children.

Our social care staff can tell you about the new system of social care.  Called self-directed support, it aims to put people in control of the support they need to live their life as they choose. 

People who are eligible for support from us may receive a personal budget or an individual budget.  This budget may be paid to them as a direct or indirect payment.  Our social care staff help their clients to work out what their care needs are and what they can do to meet those needs, so that they can live happily and more independently.

Our opening hours:

 We open at 8.30 am every weekday

 We close at 5 pm from Monday to Thursday

 On Fridays, we close at 4.30 pm
