Golden Apple Award

The Golden Apple Healthy Eating Award is a local scheme for food service providers and it rewards establishments who make it easier for their customers to eat healthily.

By becoming involved with the Golden Apple Healthy Eating Award food providers are playing a part in changing the Hartlepool diet for the better and their customers will benefit from being able to choose a healthier food choice from the menu.

The award has two main aims:

• To make the food served generally healthier by making broad changes to how food is prepared.
• To help customers make informed choices about food by including healthier items on the menu which are clearly identified.

It is free to apply and open to all types of food providers. Successful applicants will receive public recognition for achieving the award and will benefit from a high profile advertising campaign. In addition they will be provided with branded resources to advertise their success.
