Consultation- Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

Listed: 16/9/11

In accordance with the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006, the Hartlepool Borough Council is currently in the process of conducting a review of polling districts and polling places.

The regulations require the Council to carry out a review on a four-yearly cycle.  The first review took place in 2007 and the current review is scheduled to be completed by 31 December 2011.  The General Purposes Committee is responsible for undertaking the review and they have set up a Working Group to carry out the review process.

Initial meetings of the Working Group to consider this issue have taken place and a proposal for consultation has been prepared following an in-depth review of the polling districts and stations throughout the borough.

The proposal and supporting documentation is available for viewing at the Elections Office in the Civic Centre and in the Reference section in the Central Library, York Road .

The polling station consultation information can be viewed by visiting www.hartlepool.gov.uk and searching under 'Polling Station Review 2011'.
