Permit Controlled Zones
Hartlepool Borough Council is responsible for the enforcement of a number of on street permit controlled zones, covering both residential and business areas.
Residents living in properties within the controlled zones can apply for residents permits. Resident and visitor permits currently cost either £5 or £20 depending on the zone.
A limited number of parking spaces have been set aside within the commercial centre of the town for the exclusive use of businesses. Applications to use the designated parking areas, which are permit controlled, can be made to Hartlepool Connect.
Businesses operating within the controlled permit zone may qualify for either a concessionary permit (£20) or may purchase up to two business permits at a cost of £350 each per annum.
Season tickets for several long-stay car parks are also available to commuters at a cost of £350 per annum.
Restrictions generally apply from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
