About the Service
The Winter Services team pre-treat the defined routes in the event of an adverse weather forecast.
Should the conditions persist, or falls of snow begin to accumulate, treatment may be repeated, continually if necessary, until the adverse conditions end. The key to success in the delivery of this service lies in limiting activities to the defined network only. The need to satisfy statutory obligations makes it even more important that the primary focus is on the defined network.
Once all routes on the defined network are open and clear of hazard, and if the conditions continue to persist, then treatment of other highways may be considered.
