Petition for

CCTV camera at the rear of St Patrick's Shops.
We the undersigned call upon Hartlepool Borough Council to provide and install a CCTV camera at the rear of St Patrick's Shops.  Since the introduction of the Camera Car, there has been an adverse impact on the number of residents parking and using the shops.  The purposes of the CCTV is to increase public confidence in parking their cars at the rear of the shops.  It will also have a positive impact on the local economy by increasing footfall and improving the economic viability of local businesses.

Petition for

Holdforth Road - We pedestrians request that Hartlepool Borough Council provide a safe crossing point on Holdforth Road for pedestrians to cross the road within a reasonable time.  A traffic island either between the dropped kerbs outside Kensington Court entrance or an island near to the pathway leading to the main hospital block is suggested or outside Edenbrook bungalow.   The difficulty for pedestrians to cross Holdforth Road safely has been exasperated by Hartlepool Borough Council recently removing the twelve car section of permitted parking between Kensington Court car park and Howbeck Lane by laying two sets of double yellow lines.  At times now it takes an interminable time for pedestrians to safely cross Holdforth Road to or from the hospital or to or from two of the bus stops in Holdforth Road .

Save our Bus - 516 & 518

Reference:

Pet003

Date Received

4 March 2011

Number of Signatures

90

Petition for

Save our bus - We deplore your decision to withdraw the Council Subsidy for bus services 516 and 518.  Without this the coach companies will be unable to operate these services, leaving the villages of Elwick and Dalton Piercy without any public transport at all.  This will cause much hardship for many village residents, including school, college students and workers, but in particular our Senior Citizens who rely entirely on public transport to access essential services in town.

Whatever the financial climate, we believe that the Council has a moral duty to ensure that basic essential public services are available to everyone residing in the Borough of Hartlepool.  We urge you, therefore, to reconsider your decision and find some means of preserving a public transport link between our villages and Hartlepool town centre.  Even a reduced service would be better than none at all!
