Electoral Review 2010
A further electoral review of Hartlepool Borough Council began on 20 July 2010.
On 29 March 2011 we published our draft recommendations for the further electoral review (FER) of Hartlepool Borough Council and between 29 March and 20 June we invited comments on the ward boundaries in the authority.
The review has now been completed and the changes proposed must be approved by Parliament. An Order - the legal document which brings into force the recommendations - will be laid in Parliament, and they can either accept of reject the recommendations. If accepted, the new electoral arrangements will come into force at the next elections in May 2012.
