Health and Environment
What we do
The Health and Environment team is focused on addressing health and environment issues and priorities.
A wide range of health promotion activities are undertaken that are targeted towards local problems such as Heart Disease and Cancer.
We also co-ordinate environmental initiatives, which can include developing environmental policies and promoting participation in environmental activities.
As a team we work in partnership at a local, regional and national level to promote good health & environmental practice.
The Health and Environment Team aims to tackle the changes in everyday life that are needed to bring about a way of living and working which does not harm the environment.
Good health is not just about how long people live. It is about quality of life and peoples ability to contribute to society and enjoy the extra years we now have in good health.
Pride in Hartlepool is an initiative aimed at encouraging people who live and work in Hartlepool to get involved in improving the local environment.
