Housing Association Nominations

Housing Associations are non-profit making organisations that provide good quality affordable housing in many areas of Hartlepool. As well as general needs accommodation Housing Associations also provide specialist accommodation such as;

  • Sheltered housing for older people
  • Purpose-built or specially adapted accommodation for people with disabilities
  • Supported accommodation for people with specific needs

The majority of Housing Associations providing accommodation in the Borough have agreed levels of nomination rights that they must offer the Council for allocations to be made from the Housing Register.

The Housing Advice Team monitor all Housing Association allocations to ensure that these rights are maintained and provide the detailed information needed for nominations from the Housing Register.

You can apply for Housing Association accommodation by contacting them direct and applying to go on their waiting list or apply to the Council's Housing Register, which is jointly held with Housing Hartlepool.
