How do I join the library?
It's easy to join your local Hartlepool Library.
Just drop in to your local library bringing proof of your name and address and we'll help you fill in a simple membership form.
There is no charge and you'll be able to use your library card straight away.
- Find your nearest library
- Bring along proof your name and address when you visit the library. This could be a recent utility bill or your driver's licence.
- Staff will help you fill out a simple membership form
- You will be given your library card there and then and you can use it straight away
Why join the library?
- A great range of stock for you to borrow
- Free access to online resources (for example, to help you research your family tree; solve crossword clues or help with your homework).
- Free access to computers and the Internet or surf the Internet on your own laptop with our free Wi-Fi service at Central Library.
I haven't visited the library in years...
How do I rejoin?
You can rejoin the library at any time. Just drop-in to your local library.
All you need is one form of current identification that has your name and address printed on it and our helpful staff will do the rest!
Children and Young People
Are you at school and need to find something out for your homework? Are you a parent who would like to sign your child up for their first library card?
- Children and young people under 17 need a parent or guardian to sign their membership form to join the library.
- We also need your signature if your child wants to use our computer facilities.
