Who uses the Reference Library?

Our services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL
You don't even need to be a member of the library, unless you want to use the computers.
If you need help, the staff will do everything they can to find the information you need, and you only pay for things like photocopies and computer prints. We treat all enquiries confidentially.

Tracing Your Ancestors
We hold a weekly drop-in session to help you with researching your family tree. It is every Wednesday morning from 10.00am to 12.00noon and is free of charge. Contact the Reference Library on (01429) 242909 or email infodesk@hartlepool.gov.uk , or just come along.
You can also research your family history with websites 'Ancestry.com' and 'Find My Past', available from our computers in your local library.
Online Reference Library
You do not need to visit the library to find help with your research or study. We have a number of online information resources that you can access from home, with your library card.
