About Operation Clean Sweep
Operation Clean Sweep was launched by Mayor Stuart Drummond in December 2003 in a bid to improve the appearance of the town.
Operation Clean Sweep is an intelligence-led, multi-agency campaign aimed at addressing specific issues within a neighbourhood in order to transform the local environment, create safer and stronger communities and provide reassurance to the people of Hartlepool.
The campaign focuses intensive resources, on a specific area, for a maximum of one week which has been shown to make a big difference both on physical appearance and in terms of impact on the community.
