In accordance with national regulations all local authorities are required to publish details of salary information at 31 October 2010 to ensure consistent disclosure and this is the basis for the above disclosure. In December 2010 the Council completed a review of the Chief Executives salary scale and approved a new salary scale for this post of £158,000 to £168,000, which is effective from 1 April 2009. The Chief Executive's current annual salary is £168,000. There have been no changes in the salary scales for the other post disclosed.
We also publish salary information for all employees earning more than £50,000 on pages 43 to 48 of the statement of accounts (2009/10).
