Welcome to the web pages for Hartlepool Borough Council's allotment services. The allotment service is managed by the Council's Waste and Environment Section, which is part of the Regeneration and Neighbourhood Services Department.
We hope that you will find the information here to answer most questions, check out our Allotment FAQs pages for information for potential and new tenants as well as general questions.

New TIPS Courses
Tuesday 26th March, 1-3pm- TIPS on preparing and planting allotments: A session that will outline all you need to know about preparing your allotment for successful spring time fruit and veg planting.
Tuesday 16th April, 1-3pm- TIPS on spring planting: Learn about Spring time garden and allotment planting, the session will include information about what species to plant and how to do it.
Monday 20th May, 1-3pm- TIPS on hanging baskets, 1-3pm- TIPS on hanging baskets: Learn how to make beautiful hanging baskets to brighten up your garden, the session will include a demonstration and the chance to have some hands on practice.
Tuesday 28th May, 1-3pm- TIPS on summer growing, 1-3pm- TIPS on Summer Growing: Learn all you need to know about Summer growing in your allotment or garden, find out what's best to grow and how to tend to your existing plants.

2013 Allotment Show Schedule
The 2013 Allotment Show Schedule has just been released. We'll be sending copies to every tenant through the post but if you just can't wait that long you can download a copy here.
As requested we've expanded the range of classes to include more "traditional" showing classes, particularly in the fruit and veg categories. We've also increased the number of children's and fun classes to so there is something for every gardener.
The Show will take place on Sunday 18th August at Summerhill.
2013/14 Tenancy agreements and rent
You will be receiving your tenancy packs through the post from the beginning of April 2013. The packs will contain your 2013/14 tenancy agreement, invoice for your rent and copies of registration forms. Don't forget to complete the forms and send them back as soon as possible so we can ensure that you remain registered.
There are various ways that you can pay your allotment rent:
The easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit. If you would like to set up a direct debit payment please contact the Recovery Section on 01429 284000.
You can now pay your rent online using a credit/debit card. Alternatively, you can make a credit or debit card payment over the phone by calling 01429 523334 (a charge of 1.8% will be made on credit card payments). Select the "invoices" option and type in your invoice number (found on your bill), name and address, then follow the instructions on the screen.
If you prefer to pay in person you can do this at the Civic Centre in Victoria Road. You can pay by cash, cheque or credit/debit card at the cash office.
If you would like to pay your rent by cheque please make it payable to "Hartlepool Borough Council" and post it with the remitance slip from your invoice to Civic Centre Cash Office, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8AY. Please note: we cannot accept "third party" or post dated cheques, or those made payable to inidivdual officers.

New allotments Facebook page
Hartlepool Allotments Service has joined the social media revolution with a new Facebook page. We will post all our allotment news on there as well as details of any courses, events or anything else that you might be interested in. We'd love to make our page a fully fledged online community so please post any comments, events or pics that you would like to share.

New downloads and e-forms - making life easier!
We are always trying to make it easier for you to contact us and keep your records up to date online. If you need to let us know your address has changed or maybe you've got some new chickens that need registering you can now do this online. Have a look at the "Downloads and e-forms" section to find details of what services you can now do online.
If you prefer to fill in and post a form, don't worry you can print them out from here too and send them back to us.
