VISITORS to Hartlepool Civic Centre and the adjoining Law Courts are advised that essential repair work will start shortly at the front entrance to the building. From next week (w/c 6th February)

Briarfields
Located in the grounds of what was the Briarfields House, this site has an active Association, who are progressing towards 'self management'.  Access to the site is from Elwick Road.  Although the house and much of the adjoining land is likely to be developed, the allotments are to remain. The site has 12 plots and has recently been refurbished. The keeping of animals on this site is not permitted.

Brierton
Located behind what used to be Brierton Hospital, this site has vehicle access from Brierton Lane. The site has 58 plots and although it is possible to keep animals (with written permission), roosters are prohibited.

Burn Valley
Situated on the side of the Burn Valley Gardens, access is from Blakelock Road and Brinkburn Road. There are 76 plots; it is possible to keep animals (with written permission). There is an active Association operating on this site.

Catcote (Summerhill)
This site is accessed from Summerhill Lane and has 55 plots. It is possible to keep animals (with written permission).

Chester Road
Located on the side of the Grayfields Recreation Grounds, access is mainly from Chester Road. There are 147 plots and it is possible to keep animals (with written permission) although roosters are prohibited. There is an active Association operating on this site.

Greatham
Accessed from Saltaire Terrace, there are only 3 plots in Greatham Village operated by HBC. Although there are many more in the village operated by 'The Hospital of God'.

Haswell Avenue
As the name suggests, this site is accessed from Haswell Avenue. There are 30 plots and the keeping of animals is not permitted.

Nicholson's Field
Named after the farmer who originally owned the land, this site runs parallel to the Northern railway line. Access is via Speeding Drive or Dowson Road. There are 169 plots in this site. It is possible to keep animals (with written permission).

Olive Street
This is the only plot in the old town of Hartlepool and as the name suggests, it is in Olive Street. The keeping of animals is not permitted on this plot.

Station Lane
One of two sites in the Seaton Carew district, this one is accessed from Station Lane and is adjacent to the Seaton Carew train station. The site consists of 79 plots.

Stranton
This site is on land on the end of Stranton Cemetery and stretches up to Catcote Road.  There are 174 plots which are mainly accessed from Kingsley Avenue or Brierton Lane. It is possible to keep animals (with written permission).

Thornhill
Located directly adjacent to the Western boundary (back) of the Grayfields Recreation Grounds, access to the site is from the end of Thornhill Gardens. It is possible (with permission) to keep animals on its 96 plots. There is an active Association operating on this site.

Throston
This site of 82 plots overlooks the Throston housing estate and can be accessed either from Elmwood Road or Wiltshire Way. It is possible (with permission) to keep animals. There is an active Association operating on this site.

Thompson Grove
Accessed from either of 2 gates at the end of Thompson Grove, this site has only 5 plots and because of the proximity of housing, animals are not permitted.

Waverley Terrace
Sandwiched between the Rift House Recreation Ground and Waverley Terrace itself, this site is accessed from Waverley Terrace. This site is in the process of redevelopment and currently has 12 plots, though more will be made available in the future.

Woodcroft
One of two sites in the Seaton Carew district, this one is accessed from Bolton Grove. There are 30 plots and the keeping of animals is not permitted. There is an active Association operating, which has taken over the day-to-day management of the site.
