The 'Partnership for Nature in Hartlepool' plays a crucial role in managing, protecting and promoting our precious natural assets for the benefit of wildlife and the enjoyment of people.
British Energy together with Hartlepool Borough Council, Natural England and the Teesmouth Field Centre combine to pool their talents and resources with the aim of making Hartlepool a leading light in terms of conservation, environmental education and access to nature for the public.
Hartlepool Power Station acts as the 'glue' of the partnership, providing the other organisations with accommodation, facilities and support with staffing costs. We are then able to provide education, guided walks, events and manage reserves across the town from the Hart to Haswell Walkway in the north to the Teesmouth National Nature Reserve in the south. The result is a wonderful array of coastal habitats and wooded areas for everyone to enjoy!
