About NAPs

Neighbourhood Action Plans (NAPs) have been developed in each of our priority neighbourhoods to ensure local residents and community/voluntary groups have a central role in improving their area.

The plan identifies an area's local issues and priorities.  These have been raised through consultation with local residents, children and young people, community/voluntary groups, Councillors and service providers.

Each NAP sets out:

  • Realistic actions and timescales to address priorities
  • The organisations that need to be involved in delivering the actions
  • Possible source of funding and resources
  • How success will be measured

To oversee the delivery of the plan, each neighbourhood has a forum.  Residents, Councillors, service providers and voluntary/community groups work together to ensure that the priorities identified within the NAP are addressed.  They also consider new priority issues arising within the community.

NAPs are important in encouraging local people and organisations to work together to narrow the gap between the most deprived areas and the rest of the country.

Further information on each of the neighbourhoods is detailed on the pages below.
