Hartlepool Community Network
Hartlepool Community Network provides a link between the Hartlepool Partnership members from community and voluntary organisations in the town. It is responsible for delivering the Strengthening Communities Theme of the Community Strategy which is to
"Empower individuals, groups and communities, and increase the involvement of citizens in all decisions that affect their lives."
Working with individuals and communities it ensures local people are involved in the Hartlepool Partnership and are empowered to participate in decisions that affect their lives. A Protocol exists between the Hartlepool Partnership and the Community Network which provides a framework to strengthen working relationships and to secure quality community and voluntary sector involvement in the Hartlepool Partnership.
The Community Network meets at least four times a year to discuss issues and developments which affect the voluntary and community sector. It supports residents and groups in learning new skills and gaining wider experience and elects representatives to sit on the Hartlepool Partnership and other Theme Partnerships. The Community Network also employs staff to administer its work and ensure members gain regular access to information on services, projects and funding opportunities in their areas of interest.
To promote the work of the Network, news bulletins are produced and widely distributed. More information is available on 'How to become involved with the Community Network' or 'How to become a representative' or alternatively visit the website.
