Analysing local crime figures enables the Safer Hartlepool Partnership to identify increasing or decreasing trends of reported incidents in the town. These statistics not only assist in partner intelligence, developing new projects for tackling existing issues or evaluating where resources need to be placed but also highlights where improvements have been made for reducing crime in the town.

The below graph shows how the Safer Hartlepool Partnership has helped to reduce crime in Hartlepool over the last ten years with the decreasing trend of overall reported crime incidents.

For the past seven years, Ipsos MORI has carried out face-to-face interviews with residents aged 16+ in Hartlepool to gather their views on a range of topical local issues.

This survey is an important tool for finding out how satisfied residents are with the areas they live and projects being provided as well as highlighting any issues that may need improving.

The graphs below show the 2010 results related to crime, community safety and anti-social behaviour compared to previous surveys in 2008, 2006 and 2004.
