The Business Support section of the Economic Development Team offers a range of advice, support and assistance services designed to meet the needs of individuals:
- Starting up a new businesses
- Expanding an existing businesses
- Relocating a businesses to Hartlepool
In particular members of the team can provide professional advice on the financial assistance schemes and grants available to businesses, as well as accessing specialist business advice on a range of topics including financial management, exporting, effective recruiting and workforce development.
The team can also make businesses aware of the various networking groups such as the Hartlepool Business Forum that holds numerous events throughout the year including the hugely successful Business Safari event. The Enterprising Hartlepool local networking group can also provide vital support from local entrepreneurs who are successfully running businesses in the town and can provide valuable advice and guidance based on their experiences.
The business support section also manages a vacant property database that provides businesses with information on available commercial properties to rent or buy in the town including the Council owned Brougham Enterprise Centre and Newburn Bridge Industrial Estate that provides flexible accommodation for new start businesses.
The team also has a business directory available online that lists details of local businesses what activity they are involved in and the services they provide together with their contact details.
