Council Tax support for care leavers

If you are a Hartlepool care leaver, you may be able to get help with your Council Tax. The support available depends on your care leaver status and where you live.

We provide Council Tax support for Former Relevant young people.

What is Council Tax?

Council Tax is a charge on residential properties. Councils use this money to fund local services, including:

  • emergency services
  • waste and recycling collections
  • road and street maintenance
  • libraries
  • parks and leisure facilities

Most people aged 18 or over who own or rent a home must pay Council Tax.

If you live in Hartlepool
