Foster with us - make a difference in Hartlepool

We are encouraging local residents to consider fostering. Many children need a loving, stable home and some are currently placed far from their families. By fostering you can help bring a child back to Hartlepool and make a lasting difference to their life.

Why foster?

Fostering is a way to:

  • Provide a safe and supportive home for a child in need
  • Help children stay connected to their community
  • Support a child through a difficult time in their life

Fostering can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. You’ll be helping a child feel safe, valued and supported.

Support and training

As a foster carer with us, you will receive:

  • initial and ongoing specialist training
  • a dedicated social worker
  • access to the full fostering support team

We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Types of foster care

There are many ways to foster, including:

  • Emergency placements (short notice, short-term)
  • Weekend or short-break care
  • Short-term placements
  • Long-term placements

Whether you can offer a few nights or a longer-term home, every placement matters.
