We are encouraging local residents to consider fostering. Many children need a loving, stable home and some are currently placed far from their families. By fostering you can help bring a child back to Hartlepool and make a lasting difference to their life.
Why foster?
Fostering is a way to:
- Provide a safe and supportive home for a child in need
- Help children stay connected to their community
- Support a child through a difficult time in their life
Fostering can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. You’ll be helping a child feel safe, valued and supported.
Support and training
As a foster carer with us, you will receive:
- initial and ongoing specialist training
- a dedicated social worker

We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Types of foster care
There are many ways to foster, including:
- Emergency placements (short notice, short-term)
- Weekend or short-break care
- Short-term placements
- Long-term placements
Whether you can offer a few nights or a longer-term home, every placement matters.
