I am a family man who cares about the town and area that he lives in! I am married to Nicola and we have two wonderful children - Holly and Luke.
We have lived on the Warrior Park estate since April 2001 when our home, in Intrepid Close, was first built. Prior to that I lived in the Rossmere area for the majority of my life.
I originally trained to be a secondary school mathematics teacher. Shortly after qualifying I changed careers and went to manage a local team of a national youth volunteering programme - Millennium Volunteers. I did this for nearly 8 years and enjoyed every minute of it.
In 2007, I changed organisations and moved on to be the Manager of Hartlepool Families First, a registered charity established in 1988. We have a number of projects for children including those with special and additional support needs. We also operate the PlayBus and HealthBus.
I also have the privilege to be the founder and chairman of Footlight Youth Theatre, a group that works with children and young people from all backgrounds and instructs them in all forms of performing arts.
Finally, since 2007, I have been a Governor or Hartlepool Sixth Form College.
