Introduction

The following information provides details on how we may collect, use and where appropriate share personal information in relation to planning in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). It should be read in conjunction with the Council’s privacy notice.

Hartlepool Borough Council will collect your personal information in order to provide a garden waste collection service.

What personal information we collect

We will collect, store and use the following categories of personal information about you:
name, address and contact details of person subscribing to the services.

Collection of sensitive personal information

We do not collect information categorised as sensitive for the purposes of the provision of the garden waste service.

How your personal information is collected

The personal data we collect and process is provided by the person wishing to subscribe the garden waste collection service.

How we use your personal information

The information collected will be used to identify properties who have subscribed to the garden waste collection service and to identify those properties where a collection is required.

If you do not provide the required information, you will be unable to subscribe to the service.

Data sharing

Details of addresses subscribing to the service will be passed to a third party (Permiserv) who will print and distribute stickers to those persons subscribing to the service.  Only the property address will be passed on to Permiserv.

Sharing with third parties

The following third party organisations may process information about you:

  • Northgate Public Services – The Council’s IT provider Northgate may have to access the system on occasions where there is a fault
  • Permiserv – Printing company to produce and distribute labels
Data retention

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Rights of access, correction and erasure

Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:

  • have inaccurate or incomplete date we hold on you corrected
  • request the erasure of personal data we hold
  • object to processing
  • request the restriction of processing of your personal data
  • request the transfer of your personal data
  • request access to your personal information
