- Martin studied law at university and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He began his career in further education as a senior leader at a college in North Yorkshire. During this time, he completed an MBA. He then moved into senior management roles at colleges in West Yorkshire, focusing on institutional restructuring.
- Reason for Involvement
- Martin became a university finance director during a time of major change, including the relocation of the university to a new city. He later returned to further education as Vice-Principal of a large college. He then joined KPMG’s Education Advisory team as an Assistant Director. In 2008, Martin became Principal of The Northern School of Art, which has since been rated Ofsted Outstanding and awarded TEF Gold. He completed a PhD in 2016.
