Executive Headteacher of Golden Flatts and Lynnfield Primary Schools

I started my teaching career in Billingham in 1992. I have extensive classroom experience having taught across the primary range from nursery to year 6. In addition to this I have a wide range of experience supporting children with SEND and behavioural needs. Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions in a number of Hartlepool schools working at Rift House, Brougham, Golden Flatts and Lynnfield. I am very committed to ensuring that we cater for the needs of all of the children in our care. I have a keen interest in SEND and behaviour. I have a wealth of SEND experience and have been the SENDCo at three different schools. I am passionate about children’s learning, curriculum design and leadership development.

I have been a headteacher in Hartlepool since 2006. Prior to headship I spent 6 years working as a deputy headteacher at Brougham Primary School. My first headship was at Golden Flatts Primary School. I left Golden Flatts to take up the headship at Lynnfield Primary School. Following extensive partnership work between these two schools they federated and I became the Executive Headteacher working across the federation in 2018. We have recently joined the Lingfield Trust. We are excited to work in partnership with the trust to support our children and their families.

I am an experienced governor. In this role I have been part of both primary and secondary governing bodies. I am currently Chair of Governors at a local primary academy.
