- Matt joined Hartlepool Borough Council in 2026 as Chief Executive, having previously held senior posts at Newcastle City Council and Leeds City Council. He has worked in development, regeneration, and communities for much of his career which spans both public and private sectors, including former roles supporting people into jobs, training, and apprenticeships, co-developing an approach to community volunteering in Leeds, and evaluating neighbourhood renewal and neighbourhood management approaches both locally and nationally.
