Bio
Malcolm was born in West Hartlepool and has lived in the town all his life. After leaving school at 16 to enter the Steelworks, he later became involved in Youth and Community work, and as an adult went to Durham University in the early 80s to get a professional qualification, followed by an MA a decade later.
His 40 plus year professional career has involved community development, regeneration, and teaching. Between 2001-11 Malcolm was the Programme Director for Hartlepool’s £53m NDC Regeneration programme. He has always liked to get involved in my local community and is currently an active Trustee of 2 local charities. In the past he has served as a Chair of School Governors, Parish Councillor, Health Trust Non-Executive Director, advisor to HBC Cabinet, Voluntary Youth Worker, and Local Sports Team Coach/Secretary.
