Bio
Mark Tilling is the Headteacher of High Tunstall College of Science and has been in Hartlepool at High Tunstall since 2010. Mark is an advocate for supporting all within the community and the school that he leads is well known and respected for its inclusion of its community. Prior to working in Hartlepool, Mark has worked in North Yorkshire, County Durham, Stockton, and Redcar & Cleveland making his way to what he openly admits is the best you can get. Mark was instrumental in bring Zarach, the bed charity, to Hartlepool as if a child does not have their own bed how can they be expected to learn at School.

Further to being Headteacher at High Tunstall, Mark is a Trustee at AdAstra Academy Trust, A local governing body member for Acklam Grange School, Golden Flatts and Lynnfield Schools and a member of the management committee of The Horizon School in Hartlepool. Mark is a member of the Schools North East Advisory Board, Chairs the North East Maintained Secondary Schools Collective and a strategic member of the Northern Leadership Collaborative as well as a Board member of the Archimedes Maths Hub.

In Hartlepool, Mark Chairs the Schools Sub-Capital Group and the Admissions Forum and is the convenor of the Secondary Headteachers Partnership as well as sitting as Vice-Chair on Hartlepool Schools Forum.

In his spare time Mark enjoys playing golf and walking the family dogs in North Yorkshire.
