What is the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA)?
The combined authority is a body, set up by law to lead the economic development of Tees Valley which is chaired by an elected Mayor. It is a partnership of five authorities; Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, working closely with the business community and other partners to make local decisions to support the growth of the economy.
An elected Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority deliver powers and responsibilities previously carried out by the government.
