Safer Hartlepool Partnership

Overview

The Safer Hartlepool Partnership (SHP) brings together key organisations to address crime, anti-social behaviour, and community safety issues across Hartlepool.

The partnership is a statutory body under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and includes the following responsible authorities:

• Hartlepool Borough Council
• Cleveland Police
• Cleveland Fire and Rescue Service
• The Probation Service
• Hartlepool and Stockton Clinical Commissioning Group
• North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board

Additional partners include:

• Thirteen Group
• Safe In Tees Valley
• The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland
• Hartlepool Youth Justice Service

Role and responsibilities

The partnership:

• identifies key community safety issues in Hartlepool
• prioritises the most significant concerns
• co-ordinates joint actions to address these issues

A strategic assessment is carried out to review data on crime, disorder, substance misuse, re-offending and other local concerns. The findings inform the development of the Hartlepool Community Safety Plan.

Meetings

The Safer Hartlepool Partnership meets quarterly at the Civic Centre, Victoria Road. Meetings are open to the public.
