Hartlepool Rural Plan

The Hartlepool Rural Plan Working Group (encompassing the five Parishes of Dalton Piercy, Elwick, Greatham, Hart and Newton Bewley) initially secured £20,000 from the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG), a support package delivered by Planning Aid England and an additional grant to commission the support of a Planning Consultant to enable it to move forward with the development of the first draft of the plan. The group widely consulted upon the first draft and have, where appropriate, incorporated the stakeholder and community responses into the final draft, which has been validated by the Council (as Local Planning Authority) and will be subject to an eight week publicity period and an independent examination in 2017.  For further information about the Hartlepool Rural Plan and to view the submission documents please see below:

Housing Services Enforcement Policy 2016

Hartlepool Borough Council Housing Services undertake a range of enforcement activities with regards to the improvement of housing conditions and management as well as issues arising from land.  We are currently consulting on an updated enforcement policy which sets out our approach to enforcement so that people understand how they will be dealt with by us.

Your Say, Our Future

The last few years have brought a period of great change for the town and the Council. There has been a significant reduction in the funding that the Council receives from central government and we have had to make some tough decisions about the services we deliver and how we deliver them.

This has led us to a critical point in the history of the town. We need to be clear about the future direction of our town and our organisation. We remain ambitious for the future but we need to think differently about how we achieve this.

Over the summer we will be carrying out an exercise called Your Say, Our Future to engage with residents and staff about the future of the Council and the services we provide.
