Mobile and Home Library Service
The Library Bus takes books around the borough to outlying areas and schools which don’t have close access to a library. It also visits sheltered accommodation, when the elderly residents can’t get to their local library. The bus visits stops once a fortnight as per the timetable above.
The vehicle has a ramp for people who are unable to climb the step.
The Home Library
Are you elderly, disabled or a carer? Do you have mobility problems? Are you recovering from a broken limb or surgery? Do you suffer from agoraphobia? Do you struggle to carry your library books home?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you may be eligible to take advantage of the Home Library Service. If you can't come to the Library, then we will bring the Library to you - and there's so much to choose from.
What you choose to read is up to you. Whether you are looking for an easy read or something more thought provoking, everything you need can be brought to you in your own home.
Do you have visual problems? We can still help and provide either large print or audio books. You don't even need to have a CD player or a computer - we can lend you the equipment to get you started if necessary.
