Hartlepool Integrated Early Help - Response to Covid 19

Despite COVID-19, the Early Help Team in Hartlepool is still offering support to parents.

Health Visitors and School Nurses are carrying out Virtual visits and will be still contacting you for advice and support with your new babies health and development.

The nurses are assessing need daily and where possible in the interest of social distancing discussing issues with parents virtually, over the phone. If the nurse assesses that it is essential that you and your baby would benefit from a face to face contact we are holding daily clinic appointments.

The clinics are a one-on-one appointment basis and the nurses have gowns and masks and visors  in order to keep you safe. We know having a new baby is stressful especially without family being able to pop round and our nurses  are on call daily to take your calls.

Our children can find the lock down really hard and struggle with physical or emotional issues, our School Nurses are available on the phone and have virtual drop ins for school age children and parents to access. Our Children's  Nursery Nurses are available for help with feeding, sleep and behaviour issues over the phone and all the team have lots of useful resources.

Please see our facebook page for lots or resources and ideas to support you:

The EPEC Team are still here supporting parents through online platforms. Parents can still access our successful Being A Parent programme and we can also offer one to one support provided either by telephone, Zoom, WhatsApp or MSN - whatever works best for you and your family.  We have also just created an online EPEC Community Forum just for Hartlepool parents. Here we can chat to each other and share our experiences.

Hartlepool parents can also access information from our partners at the Centre for Parent and Child Support. Here we have produced daily tip sheets and ideas on the Facebook page – where you can also watch some incredible Hartlepool parents share their ideas and experiences. A YouTube channel dedicated to EPEC Being A Parent programmes is now up and running and here you can view sessions from our Being A Parent programmes that will help you manage the daily challenges of parenting during this crisis.
